Yes to Life:

Around 30 people joined in the nature walk on Thursday. The landscape was glistening, pure and fresh after a couple of days of rain. Now as the sun came back, a clear and beautiful view of Nature opened up before us. Visiting a bear-cave, walking on the edge of a cliff, reaching the top of the mountain... breathing in the air and sky, and the view beneath us. The pulse of life and freedom dances in our bodies as we spend this wonderfully warm and sunny day with beloved friends. We feel so Alive.

We get back to Dharma Mountain just in time for Silent Sitting. After the beauty of Nature comes the moment to turn inward, connecting beyond all images with a void that is even more beautiful. Reaching towards the presence within.

And then, a wonderful surprise: Presence Itself, in the form of our Master, has come to join us! Now we can lose ourselves in him, attuned to his Silence, opening into the Space he shares with us. Losing ourselves more than in the bluest sky, bathing more deeply than in the purest lake, our hearts reflect what lies beyond all words.

Yes to Life:

In the Satsang on Wednesday, Swaha shared with us a beautiful Sufi story on Trust:

"A couple are crossing a lake in a boat. Suddenly a big storm blows up. The man is a famous warrior, but the woman becomes very afraid. It seems that life is about to end. The boat is small but the storm is getting really big. At any moment they could drown under the big waves. But the man sits in silence, calm and relaxed as if nothing were happening. The woman, trembling, says to him: ‘Are you crazy? Aren't you afraid? Here we are, in danger of drowning. These may be our last moments alive. It doesn’t look like we'll reach the other shore. Maybe this is our very last moment. Only a miracle can save us. If not, death is certain. Aren't you afraid? Are you mad, are you just a stone? Can’t you feel anything?’

The man laughs, and unsheathes his sword. The woman is at a loss to know what he is doing. He brings the naked sword to the woman’s neck, touching it. He asks her, ‘Are you afraid now?’ She looks him in the eyes and starts giggling, laughing, and answers, ‘Why should I be afraid? I know you love me! Those are your hands that hold the sword. What is there to be afraid of? I know you wouldn't do me any harm. You love me.’

He puts the sword back and says, ‘This is my answer also. I know God loves me, and the sword is in His hands. The storm is in His hands. So whatever is going to happen will be for the good. If we survive, good, if we drown, good! It’s in His hands, relax! But one thing I know: He loves me!"

Over these last few days we have been working with "family constellations" in the main program of the retreat. It is such a gift to have this opportunity to go deeper, doing our homework by healing old wounds in this sensitive, loving atmosphere. Here we can allow ourselves trustfully to be at rest, knowing that we are taken care of by Existence Itself.
