During the retreats with Vasant Swaha there are a number of individual therapy sessions available – for the well-being of body, mind and soul. Here is a brief description of the most important techniques in use.
Sessions
Ayurvedic Massage
This ancient Indian massage technique was originally used to heal the bodies and minds of warriors after battle. Vigorous touch stimulates muscles, joints and lymphatic circulation. Oil is rubbed into the muscles, combined with deep breathing and stretching. This helps flexibility and the flow of vital energy in the body, resulting in a deep feeling of openness and sensitivity.
Rebalancing
Is both a soft and deep touch. It can release tensions in all the layers of the muscles. It is an energy booster, focusing on the new areas of the breath. It offers a playful release of the joints. This will make you explore the music, dance and stillness that the body still keeps in store.
Hot Stone Massage
In this ancient massage-technique, soothing and extremely relaxing, we use lavic stones coming from Hawaiian volcanoes, heated up in hot water and passed all over the body with a minimum amount of oil, to provide beneficial effects on all the structures, from the most superficial to the innermost ones: from the skin to the osteo-articular apparatus.
Holistic Massage
Massage is one of the most beneficial ways of keeping the body free from stress and illness. It improves circulation, bringing fresh oxygen and nutrients to the cells of the body. Massage also helps to eliminate toxins, releases muscular tensions and relaxes the body. Relaxing deeply automatically brings an increase in awareness, and the body begins to heal itself on many levels – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
Thai Massage
Thai massage is also know as the “lazyman Yoga”. Through passive asanas (Yoga stances) and pressure applied in the Sen channels, similar to the acupuncture meridians, the body is deeply stretched, relaxed and revitalized in a dance where presence and breath are the main focus.
Reiki
A very simple and deeply healing therapy which uses the hands as a healing channel for life energy. The touch is very light, sometimes working on an energy level without physical contact.
Rebirthing
Rebirthing makes use of a conscious breathing technique which allows the body to release physical and emotional tensions and creates an opportunity for the awareness to rise above the body-mind mechanism. This technique expands the energetic flow, bringing more vitality to our lives.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Created in Denmark by Dr. Vodder about 80 years ago, the lymphatic drainage is a very soft, yet effective technique that re-activate a lazy, congested or traumatized lymphatic system. With a very soft pressure of our fingertips, we gently move the lymph towards specific areas (lymph nodes) where it gets filtered, enriched with lymphocytes and cleaned up from viruses and bacterias.
CranioSacral Therapy
A therapeutic technique using sensitive manipulation to work with the natural self-healing abilities of the body. Through soft and precise touch on the tissues and bones of the head and spine areas, restrictions are detected and released. CranioSacral therapy can release tensions in the body’s physical and emotional levels, allow acute pain relief, enhance organ function, strengthen the immune system and support a self-corrective process.
Colorpuncture
A form of healing that involves the focusing of colored light onto acupuncture points and other areas of the body. It offers a unique way to get to the root s of many health complaints. Colorpuncture therapy uses precisely targeted light treatments to gently relieve pain, unlock information buried in the subconscious and release emotional trauma.
Tarot
Ancient oracle made of 78 cards that mirror the human being in its physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects. Used therapeutically it can bring clarity and consciousness, helping to understand the actual moment of ones life; to see alternatives and to find the tools for changes or even understanding in situations of life.
Alexander Technique
The Alexander Technique is a method that works to change habits in our everyday activities. It is a simple and practical method for improving ease and freedom of movement, balance, support and coordination. It is not a series of treatments or exercises, but rather a reeducation of the mind and body. The Alexander Technique is a method which helps a person discover a new balance in the body by releasing unnecessary tension.
Acupuncture
An ancient and widely recognized healing system from China which uses needles to stimulate certain points along energy channels of the body. This can heal a variety of disorders and supports the energy channels to rebalance the body.
Rosen Method Bodywork
This is a beautiful way to relax and to expand your consciousness. The basic technique is touching the body with a soft sensitive hand, allowing the breath to go deep and keeping in mind the power of simplicity. The Rosen Method contributes to a person’s inner growth which seems to be its most important function.
