Everybody is seeking something, and the end of that seeking is seeking your own self. Your own essence. Because only when you know yourself, will there be peace. That is why you are here in this human life. You have the potential to find your True Self, which is not a self. The Self, the True Self is really a no self.”

Thoughts are just like passing clouds, if you don’t fix your attention on the cloud – on the thought – then very soon that thought will pass. That is the whole essence of meditation. You just watch. You don’t try to stop them. You go deeper. You don’t get identified, you get a distance. It is an old Tibetan technique, to look at the clouds drifting across the blue sky. Focusing on thoughts, getting involved with your thoughts, your feelings, your emotions, you get lost. You lose your centre, your awareness, your presence. You forget the blue sky. Remember, behind the clouds there is always the blue sky. You always have that background of silence.”

You have to trust, you have to allow. Even when you are on the brink, your whole system, your whole story wants to pull you back, because it is like dying. You disappear. And that is the price you have to pay, that you disappear. When it happens, when you have an insight, you see. You are not afraid of it anymore, you see that you are still there – and you are cleansed. You are relieved of the burden of the ego.”

The truth is always simple, but the mind likes all these spiritual concepts, and knowledge, and future goals and what people are saying. Reality is very simple. Easy. Where can you be, except here and now? You are here and now. Hallelujah!”
